About

A comprehensive and reliable public charging infrastructure is essential for a transformative approach to electric vehicle (EV) usage in the UK. It must have sufficient capacity and coverage to meet the growing demand and enable long-distance journeys, as well as support those who lack off-street parking. While the public infrastructure is improving rapidly, it is currently unable to cope with mass EV adoption.

The UK Government's statement that the country will require a minimum of 300,000 electric vehicle (EV) public charge points by 2030 to meet their ban on the sale of all petrol and diesel Vehicles in the UK, representing a five-fold increase and requiring a £3bn investment, highlights the need for significant advancements in the EV infrastructure. Fortunately, the EV space has experienced rapid progress in recent years, particularly in battery and charging technology. However, implementing these advancements on a massive scale requires organisations with the necessary capabilities and skills.

Our Solution

Evo Centre, will provide up to 20 new EV charging destinations in prime locations by the end of 2024, using 100% sustainable energy resources. This will combat challenges such as range anxiety, accessibility, and ease of use.

Solutions like Evo Centre are crucial in providing the resources required to deploy charge point installation services at scale, creating more opportunities. However, there is still a long way to go before achieving a fully comprehensive and reliable public charging infrastructure in the UK.
